It's busted, and neither Sony nor BluePoint cares to fix it.ĭon't play SotC (PS4) on PS5 unless you like it when textures fail to stream in properlyĪnyway, back to the PS3 remaster. If you've never played SotC before, don't play the PS4 remake on the PS5 under any circumstances. And that's before you take into account that the game looks like dogshit running on a PS5, which I suspect would be the platform on which many new players these days would attempt to play it. The PS4 remake is an admirable effort but ultimately one that I view as an alternative take on SotC rather than the newest, most definitive version of it. The PS4 remake has its strengths, for sure, but it just has too many little flaws and regressions from the original game for me to comfortably recommend it to anyone looking to see what all the fuss was about in 2005 when many of us played the original. Now, I'm someone that has long heralded the PS3 version of SotC to be the best one for anyone to play for their first time through, and I still stand by that statement. So I decided to fire up the ol' PS3 to play BluePoint's previous remastering effort on the game. Originally I felt like revisiting it via BluePoint's PS4 remake, but sadly it has severe graphical issues when running on my PS5. I've been wanting to revisit my favorite game of all time lately, as I tend to do every few years since its original PS2 release way back in 2005.
